Niagara Parks Set to Welcome Canada Summer Games

Niagara Falls, ON – Niagara Parks is proud to collaborate with the Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games. Niagara Parks will host all golf events at its Battlefield Course at Legends on the Niagara Golf Complex. Niagara Parks is also supporting the Town of Fort Erie and the City of Niagara Falls by providing the host sites for their respective 13 For 13 Cultural Festival events.

The Games will formally conclude with the Parade of Teams in a spectacular public Closing Ceremony overlooking Niagara Falls, in Queen Victoria Park on August 21. Please note: temporary lane closures may continue surrounding the venues through the week of August 22, with minimal impact on local traffic. August 17 – 20
Battlefield Golf Course, Legends on the Niagara Golf Complex

Niagara Parks’ Battlefield Course at Legends on the Niagara Golf Complex will host both mixed team and individual golf events, with four rounds of play. Tickets are not required for spectators, who are welcome to support athletes and walk behind the golfers, per Golf Canada regulations. 13 for 13 Cultural Festival – Town of Fort Erie and Nova Scotia
August 12 from 3 – 10 p.m.
Old Fort Erie

The Town of Fort Erie will host its 13 for 13 event in partnership with Nova Scotia at Niagara Parks’ Old Fort Erie site. The old stone fort will come to life with historic tours, Indigenous programming, a Scottish heavy sports demonstration, a highland dance performance and musical entertainment from six-time JUNO award nominee, The Trews.

Note: A road closure will be in effect along the Niagara Parkway at Lakeshore Road. No grass parking will be permitted. Shuttles from designated parking lots has been arranged by the Town of Fort Erie. For more information, please visit forterie.ca.

13 for 13 Cultural Festival – City of Niagara Falls and Northwest Territories
August 13 from 3 – 10 p.m.
Queen Victoria Park

The City of Niagara Falls will host its 13 for 13 event in partnership with Northwest Territories in Queen Victoria Park, featuring interactive activities for all ages, including a local artist market and inspiring Indigenous performances and storytelling. Closing out the night will be a live concert with Juno Award Recipient from the Northwest Territories, Leela Gilday, and fireworks over Niagara Falls at 10 p.m.

Note: Daily lane closures will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. along the Niagara Parkway at Murray Street, from August 10 – 14. For more information, please visit niagarafalls.ca.

August 21 from 7 – 10 p.m.
Queen Victoria Park

The Niagara 2022 Summer Games will formally conclude in Queen Victoria Park, overlooking iconic views of Niagara Falls. The special evening will feature a number of Indigenous performances, with music by Toronto’s POESY and guitarist of The Tragically Hip, Paul Langlois, in support of the Gord Downie and Chanie Wenjack Fund, to build cultural understanding and create a path toward reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples. The free event will conclude with fireworks at 10 p.m. and a special illumination of Niagara Falls.

Note: A road closure of the Niagara Parkway between Clifton Hill and Murray Street will be in effect from 5 – 11 p.m. on Sunday, August 21.

Falls Illumination Commemorates the Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games

The Niagara Falls Illumination Board will illuminate both the Canadian Horseshoe and American Falls in various colours nightly for 16 days in celebration of each province’s athletes and to recognize the strong local support for the Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games.
