Niagara Parks Plans Road Closures Ahead of Niagara Falls Marathon

  • The Niagara Falls Marathon is set to take place Sunday, October 27, 2024, starting at Upper Rapids Boulevard and ending at Rapidsview Park
  • Runners can choose to participate in 5-kilometre, 10-kilometre, half marathon or full marathon races
  • To ensure the safety and success of the races, the Niagara Parks Police Service will assist with scheduled road closures along sections of the Niagara Parkway and Upper Rapids Boulevard
  • Access to local residences will be provided with the assistance of Niagara Parks Police and race marshals

Niagara Falls, ON – Niagara Parks is proud to host the Niagara Falls Marathon on Sunday, October 27, 2024. Voted one of the most scenic marathons in Canada, the Niagara Parkway will serve as a key route for more than 4,000 marathon participants with the start and finish lines at Upper Rapids Boulevard and Rapidsview Park.

To help facilitate the race, Niagara Parks wishes to notify residents and businesses of the following road closures scheduled along sections of the Niagara Parkway and Upper Rapids Boulevard from 5 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday, October 27:

  • There will be a full road closure of the Niagara Parkway from the Miller’s Creek Bridge in Fort Erie to Upper Rapids Boulevard in Niagara Falls beginning at 5 a.m. and re-opened as participants pass by each adjoining intersection. Access to local residences will be provided with the assistance of Niagara Parks Police and race marshals.
  • The Niagara Parkway will be fully closed between Murray Street and Upper Rapids Boulevard from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. Upper Rapids Boulevard, between Portage Road and the Niagara Parkway, will also be closed during that time.
  • Additionally, the eastbound lanes of Upper Rapids Boulevard will remain closed from 5 a.m. until 5 p.m.
  • Burning Springs Hill will be fully closed to traffic between Portage Road and the Niagara Parkway from 5 a.m. until 9 a.m.
  • As a reminder, the perimeter parking and trails at Dufferin Islands, including access to the public washrooms, will remain closed until November 1, 2024, to accommodate electrical repairs in the area.

Parking Access: Niagara Parks’ Falls Parking Lot (Lot A) and Floral Showhouse Parking Lot (Lot B) will be accessible after 9 a.m. However, Rapidsview Parking Lot (Lot C) will be closed all day for the event.

WEGO bus service will operate as usual without any disruptions.
