Niagara Parks Plans Road Closure Ahead of Ride for Roswell Event

  • The Niagara Parkway’s northbound curbside lane between Upper Rapids Boulevard and Clifton Hill will close from 5 a.m. to 11 a.m. during the fundraiser
  • Cyclists will cross into Canada from the United States via the Peace Bridge in Fort Erie and return by crossing the Rainbow Bridge in Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls, ON – Niagara Parks is pleased to welcome the 2024 Ride for Roswell, a cross-border cycling event supporting the Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center in New York State, on Saturday, June 22. In support of the event, as well as to ensure the safety of cyclists, the Niagara Parkway’s northbound curbside lane between Upper Rapids Boulevard and Clifton Hill will be closed between 5 a.m. and 11 a.m.

Niagara Parks reminds the public to anticipate traffic delays due to the road closures. Additionally, the Niagara Parks WEGO bus service will continue uninterrupted.

The Ride for Roswell 

The Ride for Roswell is one of the largest fundraising events that brings people together to raise financial support for Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, celebrate cancer survivors, pay tribute to loved ones lost to the disease and help find a cure for cancer. In 2023, the Ride for Roswell saw more than 7,000 participants raise $5.6 million for cancer research and treatment.

The cycling event features nine distinct routes with multiple start times and distances that cover 12 municipalities and span Canada and the United States.

The Niagara route will bring approximately 600 cyclists across the Peace Bridge in Fort Erie, continuing north along the picturesque Niagara Parkway before crossing back into the United States via the Rainbow Bridge on the Canadian side in Niagara Falls.
