Niagara Parks Invests in Resurfacing Improvements Along South Niagara Parkway

  • The work includes five kilometres of the South Niagara Parkway from south of Cairns Crescent to north of the Bowen Street Intersection
  • Sections of the parkway including from Lakeshore Road to Beatrice Street will be resurfaced
  • Provisional resurfacing will be completed on the field-side lane of Cairns Crescent near Sutherland Drive

Fort Erie, ON – As part of its capital improvements program, Niagara Parks is continuing its investment in infrastructure along the South Niagara Parkway, with resurfacing work set to begin on August 19, 2024. The project is expected to be completed by September 30, 2024.

Resurfacing will be done on five kilometres of the South Niagara Parkway, from just south of Cairns Crescent to just north of the Bowen Street intersection, and approximately one kilometre of the Parkway from north of Wintemute Street to the junction on the south side of Catherine Street.

Additionally, sections of the South Niagara Parkway from Lakeshore Road (just before the new roundabout) to Beatrice Street, and from Schweigler Road to 3255 Niagara Parkway, will also be resurfaced.

Provisional resurfacing will also be completed on the field-side lane of Cairns Crescent near Sutherland Drive.

As a self-funded agency of the Government of Ontario, Niagara Parks invests its earned revenue to fulfil its mandate of promoting and preserving the natural and cultural heritage along the Niagara River Corridor. This includes investments in improving and repairing infrastructure across its properties.
