Niagara Falls, ON – After officially being sworn in as the new Chair of the Niagara Parks Commission today, May 16, 2024, Bob Gale has announced the Board will be reinstating the public component of its monthly Commission meetings beginning on June 13, 2024.

In his first Commission meeting since his appointment as the new Chair of the Niagara Parks Commission by the Premier, Gale announces the change as he pledges to champion the principles of transparency and accountability across the organization.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Niagara Parks Commission, along with many other Boards and organizations at the time, transitioned to virtual meetings. The meetings returned to in-person sessions in March 2023. Moving forward, beginning with the scheduled meeting on June 13, 2024, monthly Commission meetings will now be held at the School of Horticulture Lecture Hall and include a public portion where members of the public will be able to attend and learn more about upcoming projects and initiatives undertaken by Niagara Parks. The public sessions will also be recorded and made available on Niagara Parks’ website.

The Niagara Parks Board of Commissioners is composed of up to twelve individuals who are responsible for making policy decisions, providing guidance to staff and reporting to the provincial government. The Commission also includes various committees composed of board members that meet on a regular basis. For more information, visit niagaraparks.com/corporate.
