Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea at Historic McFarland House

Niagara Parks’ oldest property, McFarland House, promises a memorable Mother’s Day for all who visit. Costumed guides offer interpretive tours of the residence, portraying life in Niagara in the 1800’s. Reservations are required for the popular afternoon tea in the conservatory, which is known for its large selection of loose leaf teas and an assortment of homemade, fresh-baked goods. For reservations, please call (905) 468-3322. McFarland House will be open daily from 12 p.m. to 5: p.m. beginning on Sunday, May 14. Tours of McFarland House are also available: $6.25 for adults and $4.05 for children six to 12 years of age (All prices $CDN + taxes).

Annual Hydrangea Display at the Floral Showhouse
7145 Niagara Parkway, Niagara Falls, Ontario
Open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The annual Hydrangea display features stunning floral spheres bursting with magnificent colours of blues, pinks and white, throughout the warm, tropical setting. Surrounded by an array of blooming magnolias and tulips along the upper Niagara River, the Niagara Parks Floral Showhouse also features a new outdoor art installation, Life on Display. Admission to the Floral Showhouse is $5 for adults and $3.75 for children six to 12 years of age (All prices $CDN + taxes). Season Pass upgrades are also available for an additional $5.
Spring Blossoms along the Niagara Parkway
The timing is perfect during Mother’s Day weekend to take in all of the spring blooms that can be found throughout the 40-hectare (99 acre) Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens and School of Horticulture and all along the scenic 56-kilometre Niagara Parkway from Fort Erie to Niagara-on-the-Lake. Be sure view the spectacular Canada 150th Celebration Garden Promenade throughout Queen Victoria Park that is comprised of 30,000 festive red and white tulips generously gifted to Niagara Parks by the Canadian Garden Council and Vesey’s Bulbs of Prince Edward Island.
